🧭 1. Stage Purpose
- Remove divalent ions (primarily SO₄²⁻, Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺) using a specialized nanofiltration system
- Reduce scaling potential for downstream systems
- Protect IX from sulfate loading (critical for YieldMax)
- Produce a conditioned stream suitable for selective ion exchange
- Separate water into:
- Permeate (low divalent ions → forward to IX)
- Concentrate (high divalent ions → waste or further processing)
📊 2. Normal Operating Envelope
- Feed Flow Rate: 5 to 100’s GPM
- Permeate Flow: 5 to 100’s of GPM
- Recovery (%): 70-80%
- ΔP across membranes: ___ psi (clean) → ___ psi (cleaning trigger)
- Permeate Quality: Low sulfate, stable conductivity
🟢 3. What “Normal” Looks Like
- Stable permeate flow and recovery
- Gradual (not rapid) increase in ΔP over time
